Elevating Endometrial Cancer on the Global Health Agenda

We push for prevention, early diagnosis, molecular risk-stratification, and equitable treatment for all women—everywhere.

Why It Matters?

Endometrial cancer (EC) is rising worldwide and remains under-recognized. We work to change this by embedding EC into national and global NCD strategies and by accelerating access to quality diagnostics and care.

Our Advocacy Priorities:

  • Policy Recognition: Include EC explicitly in national/UN NCD frameworks and funding.

  • Early Detection & Diagnosis: Primary-care awareness, timely referrals, ultrasound/biopsy access, and molecular classification for accurate risk stratification.

  • Quality Care & Equity: Guideline adoption, multidisciplinary care, and reimbursement pathways that close treatment gaps.

  • Data for Decisions: Real-world evidence and patient-reported outcomes to identify unmet needs and track impact.

What We’ve Done:

  • Guidelines Influence: Patient-advocate contribution to ESGO–ESTRO–ESP EC guideline ecosystem—bringing lived experience to clinical standards.

  • Establishing a Global Task Force on EC: Convening researchers, clinicians, and advocates to deliver policy briefs, roadmaps, and scorecards.

  • Research & Insights: Ongoing work on side effects, QoL, and dermatologic toxicities; initiating RWE collaborations to surface real-world safety and effectiveness signals.

  • Public Engagement: Op-eds, podcasts, and conference sessions spotlighting EC and inequities across settings.

The global position paper on uterine cancer

Too many women with uterine cancer are often told their symptoms are “normal” or “not serious.” Heavy bleeding, pain, and fatigue are sometimes dismissed, potentially leading to delays in diagnosis and worse outcomes.1, 2 These stories are too common in our community.

That’s why we were proud to co-author a position paper, with AstraZeneca and other like-minded organizations, on uterine cancer “Spotlight on uterine cancer: Shaping access to equitable and high-quality care”, launched September 22nd, 2025 at Concordia Annual Summit, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting.

The paper brings women’s voices to the forefront, highlighting the stigma, silence, and neglect that sometimes surrounds uterine cancer – setting out concrete steps to help change the story. From breaking down stigma to improving early detection, it calls on governments, policymakers, and health systems to act now. Read the paper here:
