HaBait Shel Bar X Shenkar Fashion Department 2024
4 out of 5 people worldwide will be infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV) during their lifetime.
99% of cervical cancers are caused by the human papillomavirus.
Every year, about 250 women in Israel are diagnosed with cervical cancer,
And another 5,000 are diagnosed with pre-cancerous conditions.
All this, even though the papilloma virus can be eliminated from the world.
For the first time in Israel, the best creators came together to produce an unique fashion production, for raising awareness of the human papilloma virus (HPV).
The exciting production is the result of a collaboration between the “Habit Shel Bar” association and the fashion and textile design departments at Shenkar College.
The artist and photographer Pini Siluk joined us for the fashion shoot,
as well as public opinion leaders and influencers, senior doctors, cervical cancer survivors and family members.
?How did we do it
Students from two design departments in Shankar designed one of a kind T-SHIRTs in 48 hours of inspiration and creation to raise awareness of cervical cancer.
T-shirts have historically been a chosen medium to communicate messages in an immediate and direct manner. In the marathon, through a meeting with the association and wcervical cancer survivors, the students examined how it is possible to harness the popular fashion item to raise awareness and create such an important and necessary discourse around the issue.
HaBait Shel Bar – Israel Women’s Cancer Association (RA) that supports an original Israeli creation, accompanied the students and held an exciting inspirational meeting with cervical cancer survivors. The winning designs earned their designers merit scholarships on behalf of the association.
